Bali resort bans all technological devices to spread awareness against social media.

Recently, Ayana Resort and Spa in Bali has made quite the move as they have banned all gadgets so that the visitors can purely have the vacation of a lifetime without any technological interference.

These are the words that Anaya claimed on the resort’s website. It is essential to appreciate everything that is currently happening, savouring the moment and also spend time with loved ones.
The famous resort has a two-tiered pool surrounded by double sun loungers. Devices are kept in lockers and are strictly not to be used between 9am-5pm thus giving the visitors a deep cleanse from any mobile devices and enjoy the scenery. Instead, the visitors are provided with all sorts of traditional games such as Jenga, Sudoku, Chess, and Cards.

This awareness is also present in Vienna with the slogan: “see Vienna – not #Vienna. Enjoy the city behind your pics!”. This campaign was launched at the beginning of November with the intention to spread awareness about social media and how some think that it is the most essential thing to fit in today’s society. In fact, in one of the most famous paintings of the city, Klimt’s ‘Kiss’ in the Upper Belvedere gallery it has the slogan with a large red hashtag “see Klimt. Not #Klimt”.

The impact that social media has on the world has changed the way we see things and also communicate, live and travel. Nowadays, in this modern world, it is a true pity seeing people on vacations staring at their phone, when the purpose of it all is to take a break from everything and appreciate their surroundings. To live like there is no tomorrow is the true meaning of life and the key for a positive and happy one.
